Dr. Edward Szymczak
Dr. Szymczak (pronounced Sim-zack) was born and raised in northern MN. In 2005, he completed his undergraduate degree in Pre-Medical Studies and Fine Arts at the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Lake Superior. He spent the early years of his career working in the mental health field as a children’s counselor, supervisor, and therapeutic foster parent. He went on to complete the medical program at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA, acquiring experiences in various settings; including community health clinics, Evergreen Hospital, The Betty Ford Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Bastyr’s Integrative Oncology Research Center, Parkinson’s research, and more.
Upon graduation, Dr. Szymczak returned to his roots in Minnesota to open and operate an independent clinic. In an area with little access to integrative healthcare, the clinic was well received. Though grateful for the opportunity to work there, Dr. Szymczak and his family dearly missed the Pacific Northwest, a place and community that had became home to them. They chose to return and settle in the Snoqualmie Valley. He is thrilled to be practicing at Tolt River Family Medicine.
In addition to his emphasis on primary care, Dr. Szymczak has particular interests in men’s health, physical medicine, gastrointestinal health, integrative oncology, cardiovascular health, diabetes management, biofeedback, and pain management.
Aside from medical practice, Dr. Szymczak has a very active family life.
He is often adventuring in the great outdoors with his wife and four children. Don’t be surprised if you meet them on the trail, in the woods, on the water, or rock climbing. You’ll also find them frequenting the local library, farmers market, and community events.
