Practice Announcement

Dear Tolt River Family Medicine Community,

It has been an honor and heart expanding privilege to serve this community as a primary care provider.  The families who have partnered with the clinic for their healthcare and the moments we have shared are very dear to me.  So please know that it is only after careful and heartfelt considerations that I have decided to take a leave of absence from practice, starting in the Fall of 2018, in order to focus my attention entirely on the needs of my family and health.

After my leave of absence, I do hope to return to practice, but I will serve a smaller panel of patients and specialize more exclusively in pediatrics and breastfeeding medicine.  I intend to remain in network with Regence, Premera/Lifewise and Molina Medicaid for kids.  I will be canceling my contracts with Aetna, Cigna, American Specialty Health, Molina Marketplace, and Ambetter. I will continue to see patients at our current location until mid October 2018.

I am thankful for the wonderful help of the staff and residents at Tolt River Family Medicine and wish them well in their next adventures.  Kit will be with us until September when she will be going off to do development work for a non-profit that is near and dear to her heart.  Dr. Ed Szymczak and his family will be moving to Bellingham. His last day at the clinic will be August 31^st.  Dr. Ashley Wimer will continue to be available for appointments this summer, and her plans for the future are still developing.

We would love the opportunity to see you in the coming weeks for a final appointment during which we will extend your prescriptions, provide you with personalized suggestions about where to continue your care, provide you with copies of your immunization record, recent labs, and a continuity of care report for your next provider.
